Canada express entry – Canada skilled migration
Canada Express Entry or the Canada skilled migration program is an online point-based system for professionals or skilled workers to work and settle in Canada. The points are awarded on the basis of educational qualifications, work experience, skills, Canadian employment status and provincial/territorial nomination. If you score more points, you will have a higher chance of receiving an ITA ( invitation to apply ) and therefore, apply for the Canada PR. How does Express Entry work?
Following are the steps of how the Canda express entry works.
Get your ECA done
If you completed your education from outside of Canada, then you have to get your ECA or education credential assessment done. In simple terms, this means the applicant’s educational qualification must be equal to the Canadian education system.
Language ability test
The second step is to complete the language ability test, The required IELTS score is a minimum of 6 overall and in each band as well.
If an applicant knows french then it will be a plus point for their profile. To prove the french language ability, one has to give TEF (Test d’Evaluation de Français).
Creating the express entry profile
The next step is to fill out an express entry form with all the details like nationality, age, education qualification, skills, work experience, language ability and all the other details as asked in the form.
If you scored the required points then you can submit your profile and it will be included in the express entry pool.
Calculating the CRS score ( comprehensive ranking system )
Your profile will be ranked on the basis of a comprehensive ranking system or the CRS score if it makes it to the express entry pool.
Get the ITA ( invitation to apply )
You will get an ITA or the invitation to apply if your profile gets selected from the express entry pool. The invitation will be sent by the Canadian government after which you can begin with your documentation for the Canada PR visa.
Express entry eligibility:
Age:
Should be between 18 – 35.
Education qualification
Minimum education qualification, higher secondary should be equal to the higher secondary education level in Canada. The highest qualification means more points.
Language ability
One must score a minimum of 6 in IELTS to be eligible and the higher the band is more points will be rewarded.
If you know french then additional benefits will be given.
Work experience
One year of work experience is required in the express entry. If you have more than 3 years of experience then you will get maximum points in the work experience section.
Family or relatives in Canada
You will get additional points if any of your family members or relatives are living in Canada.
What to do once the ITA is received?
If the ITA or invitation to apply is received, then you will have 90 days to submit a complete application. If within 90 days, the application with correct and complete documents is not given then the invitation will become invalid.
